INTRODUCTION OF THE YARMOUTH 22

    The Yarmouth 22 design evolves from the very popular Yarmouth 23 Gaff Cutter, with the objective of offering an easily managed and maintained performance Sloop alternative, either complete or as an economic Sail - Away version for Owners to select their own equipment and fit - out to their own preferences. This pretty craft is safe, reliable and well constructed, offering space for 4 full length berths, galley and navigational area with generous headroom for optimum crew comfort in a vessel of this size.

HULL

 Heavy duty glass reinforced plastic hand laid moulding to Lloyds Register of Shipping scantling recommendations incorporating a combination of chopped strand mat and biaxial cloth with double pigmented gel coat on topsides (see colour options) and clear gel below waterline. Hull has simulated clinker topsides and is of traditional long keel design. 

 DECK   

Heavy duty grp moulding comprising the Weather Deck, Cockpit and Coachroof. Hand laid chopped strand mat laminate with wood core and double pigmented gel coat.

  BULKHEADS    

Of 15mm plywood bonded to grp mouldings. All plywood is marine quality to BS 1088.

  RUDDER    

Laminated marine plywood, epoxy sheathed, with teak cheeks, bronze fittings, laminated tiller and integral boarding step.  

DECK LAYOUT   

 Flush Weather Deck is teak sheathed (option). Cockpit sole has teak Gratings and non-slip panels on seating areas. Guard Rail assemblies fore and aft with safety lines on deck Stanchions. All stainless steel fittings are marine quality 316. Harness lines port and starboard. Fairleads, Cleats and Mooring Bollard. Access to saloon has weather board closure protected by folding canopy hood. Glazed watertight hatch over fore cabin. 2 fixed windows to saloon. External handrails. Natural ventilation. Compass. Sheet winches, main sheet horse and cockpit reefing. Ensign staff. Aft deck locker. Self draining cockpit.  

RIG    

Bermudan Sloop with aluminium alloy Mast and Boom from Z Spars. Sails of good quality manufacturer. Main with single slab reef, luff slides and insignia. Genoa with roller reefing and sun strip. White Dacron with telltales.  

ENGINE    

Option 1. Mariner 6hp 4 stroke outboard with 12v charging to 75ah battery to supply cabin lights via fuse panel.

Option 2. Beta 13.5hp inboard diesel on resilient mounts. Water cooled exhaust system. 45 litre fuel tank. Engine compartment sound insulated. Stainless steel shaft, 3-bladed bronze propeller, sterntube with water lubricated bearing. 

FORECABIN   

 V -berth layout with lockers under. Overhead hatch and vent. cushions and linings. Double berth infill cushion optional extra.  

SALOON    

Access steps from cockpit bridge deck. Settee berth port and starboard extending under cockpit seats. Seat and back cushions. Sole teak parquet on plywood. Lockers. Skeleton galley units port and starboard with navigation table over, without equipment. Galley stove, wash, navigational instruments and fit out are optional extras. Fixed windows. Soft lining throughout.  

HEADS    

A portable chemical WC can be supplied and secured with screen in fore cabin or under saloon steps. (optional extra)  

BILGE SYSTEM    

Manual bilge pump in cockpit drawing from keel sump and discharging overboard at transom. Cockpit is self draining.  

FIRE EXTINGUISHER    

Positioned as convenient.  

FURNISHING   

Bulkheads are finished in white or veneered, with varnished teak trim. Cushions of 4" covered foam. Lining throughout. Safety hand grips. 

PAINTING    

All teak trim varnished including fender rubbers and toe rails. Hull finished with boot top and 2 coats of antifouling prior to launching, commissioning or hand over at Yarmouth.
